Ok I have searched and nothing really matches my issue. I have a 92 Talon with the 2.0 N/T engine. Well my car will not go over 3800 Rpms in any gear. It acts like it just can not go any more, it dosn't matter if I give it wide open throttle or partial throttle. I have replaced plugs and wires. There are no CEL. Any ideas??

Just a guess dude - I did put a ? behind it - but BTW WTF do you think makes the Engine run at higher RPM? More Fuel maybe? & ultimately the Fuel Flow is restricted by??

Wow calm down. I was just asking you a question based on your response, just trying to find out more info. Wasn't trying to say that wasn't the problem.

bad MAF possibly?
also, doesnt 3800 give or take a couple hundred rpms, switch loop modes in the ecu?
open to closed loop at around that engine rpm, maybe that has something to do with it.

trying timing, see if you jumped a tooth or two, that would do it, also it has no distrtibutor just coil packs.

get ahold of a logger from someone, will help out a lot and help us help you

Thanks everyone for responding. I was hoping to get a more solid response. I really dont want to keep throwing money in this POS. 1700 in a 92 esi turd is just retarded. If any of you come up with a more definitive response please let me know.

I will check timing..
I will check the cat..
I am fairly sure it is not the MAF, because when its not working or is unplugged it gives a CEL.

Check the ECU for bad Caps. This was one of the 1st things I had go wrong. a few bucks at Radio Shack, and 10 minutes later, problem was all gone.

Worth a shot.

It is worth a shot. I just dont want to put much more money in this money pit. I hate this damn car. You have a PM verbalKint

just take it to some random shops, see if anyone there will look at it for you, ive done this few times to see if anyone look at it for free, just keep asking questions usually they be like ok lemme look real quick, just pull round back to the service department. And if u have to, then pay someone to look at it, or take all their advice and end up replacing 15 different parts that might not have anything to do with the issue.

I really dont want to drive the car like it is. So taking it to the shop will be out of question. I looked at the link you gave me VerbalKint, removal looks fairly easy but I dont see myself replacing the caps. Oh well I will probably take her to the auction and hope for the best. Damn I have so much invested in this damn car.

THE problem was ... Timing as suggested by 1993TalonTsiAWD. i reset it tonight and drove the car it ran great. No problems, so far.

Thanks for the help,
Chris
