car wouldn't start a few days ago..
The battery, starter and solenoid, starter relay are all checked and good.
Didn't check ignition switch yet.
I connected a jumper cable from the positive battery terminal to the terminal on the top of the starter solenoid (black wire terminal) the car starts and runs.
When the black wire is hooked up to the solenoid terminal it's getting zero voltage so i figure the wire is bad.
Instead of digging that wire out of the harness and replacing it and probably having to fix other stuff anyway, is there an ingenious way to install a wire linking the positive battery terminal to the starter solenoid terminal and having a switch so i can start it that way, couldn't find much on push button start and i don't really care about security i'd rather not use a key at all, any suggestions? thanks!

I haven't had time to work on this in a while, or change my socks.
The ignition switch is bad so i bypassed it with a homemade rice button (starter button).
Works fine except when its cold the car takes a long time to start. Cranks fast just takes a while to start and run. I figure its the coolant temp sensor that connects to the ecu. Can I block that sensor port off with a 3/8 inch bolt or do I have to buy another sensor? Thanks for the help.

Thanks Steve for the reply. I read a post somewhere, a guy said he cut the wires to the cts and grounded them. He said the car ran fine but sounds like it would run too rich. The wires to my cts are fried at the connector and I plan to make a connector and rewire it first. If that works I won't need another sensor. Hopefully this will solve my cold start problem, thanks for the help.

save yourself the potential problems later on... may hurt the pocket book but its best that you fix it and isolate it rather then causing potential problems later down the road man. trust me afro engineering isnt the way to go! too many horror storries ive worked with and seen. do it the right way once and forget about it!
