Car starts when o2 sensor is unpluged. Also volt meter info

Hey guys for some odd reson my fuel trims have been slowy going rich. Also my car starts when the o2 senor is unpluged
I also wanted to know how to use a volt meter so I could check the o2 sensor plug. I have a red and black wire??

What do you mean, it starts when the sensor is unplugged? You mean you can unplug it and the car still runs? That's not a problem, not having an o2 sensor wouldnt make the car not run, just give you a CEL and run really rich.
I don't know the wires coming off a 1G o2 sensor, and when you say you have a red and black wire, you are talking about on the voltmeter right? What color wires are on the plug and how many are there? I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish by testing the voltage to the o2 sensor....

Yeah steve the car runs like the sensor isnt there.
And when I say red and black wire Im talkin about the voltmeter

The black wire on the voltmeter you connect to ground (the car body) the red wire you connect to the O2 sensor pin on the ECU or the white check terminal by the blower motor in the passenger footwell. The multimeter need to be on the lowest voltage scale since the sensor output is 0 to 1v.

The blinkly lights are just a graphical voltmeter so you can look to see where they pick up the signal.

It should start fine. When you just start the car, it is in open loop anyways, so the sensor isn't used.
