I'm trying to do the Taboo emission controls and vacuum hoses elimination mod when I noticed the crankshaft position sensor is unplugged and ends are tapped off as if some one had deliberately not wanted it hooked up. The car runs but throw a random misfire code when the engine oil temp. reaches 180' and I'm at part throttle, I then clear the code and it will not come up again till the car completely cools this maybe a separate problem but I thought I should include it. Now I'm the third owner of this car and besides this the vacuum lines seem to me after looking at the Taboo before diagram that they where routed any which way.Now its my understanding that the car shouldn't run with out the CPS hooked up or does this have some thing to do with the Greedy profec E-1 that was all ready installed when I purchased the car? I have looked over the install manual for the Greedy profec E-1 and it shows nothing of unplugging the CPS. Any help would be great full.

Sorry, O/T.
I saw in your profile..
what are "koni yellow spring suspension"?
I assume you mean Koni Sport shocks, and umm painted yellow springs?
Not trying to be a smart ass, but I'm curious if you're actually running Koni springs.

Interesting. How about plugging it in and seeing if the misfire goes away and if the car runs better?

All right after looking one more time I have noticed that I have a 89-90 CAS on my 99 GSX. Now I do not have a 6 bolt swap. Why would some one do such a thing? Is this just for base timing adjustability and would this be the source of my random miss fire.

Yeah it's for timing adjustability but the unfortunate and annoying side effect is random misifire. You have 4 options:

- go back to stock setup
- try a black top (93-94) cas as it has the best resolution out of all the 1g cas.
- do the pot mod which is a bandaid and i do not recommend it
- get dsmlink as you can select for the ecu to ignore the random misfire

You my also have a 1g Head on your car, that would be a great reason to have a 1g CAS
