Hey guys, my car is misfiring and I wanna make sure what is exactly wrong with it and was wondering if the good people of dsmtuners.com can help :D:

Symptoms: The car backfired, you can hear the motor sounding like a subaru and feel it rumble a bit, definitely feel the loss of power, it idle surges a bit and the check engine light went on.

After I checked it with ODB II scan tool, it threw out the "multiple cylinders misfiring" code. So I checked my spark plugs and saw that spark plug in cylinder 3 was chipped. So, I replaced all 4 and cleared the codes. I test drove it and seemed back to normal then after a while it came back, except the backfiring was gone and after I rev it past 3k RPM, the power would come back. I keep on checking the plugs by taking them out, inspecting them then putting them back in. The car would drive normal for a while then after about 15 minutes of driving, misfire would come back.

The plugs aren't fouled or anything, the new ones and the old, I am thinking about the spark plug wires are faulty/bad. Do you guys have any suggestions? Any reply is appreciated except the bad. THANKS for reading!

im getting these errors, but now the subaru and bad idle is gone?!?!

P0203..... Injector No.3 output driver not responding properly
P0204..... Injector No.4 output driver not responding properly

checked connections and they are on there tight...

I had the similar symptoms. My car LITERALLY sounded like a WRX got a CEL. Checked the code with a logger and it said "Injector Circuit Failure" Turns out one of my injectors jarred loose with a mean AWD launch (clip was missing). Pushed back in and immedately the car went back to normal, I cleared the code and haven't had the same issue since.

Yep, that is something that happens. To find which cylinder it is, just go through and unplug your injectors one at a time. Good cylinders will make it worse, and when you pull one and it doesn't change, you have your problem.

You must have been posting this as I was typing my reply. Yes, Iridium plugs are VERY bad for forced induced cars. The Iridium electrode actually becomes a hot spot.
That isn't really true. The Evo IX comes from the factory with iridium plugs and requires iridium plugs. They obviously aren't that bad with boosted cars...

Either way, I wouldn't use a $20 iridium plug in my car when I can use $2 NGKs and have outstanding performance. Evo VIII owners have it good also...

A problem that could also cause this is a loose connection to the ecu pins. During my 6bolt swap 2 of the pins were a little loose going into the harness and it would cause only the 2 other cylinders to fire and sometimes they would go in and out. Check and make sure pins 1,2,14, and 15 are in place. Just a suggestion

My car also sounds like a subaru, it does some poping sound and the car boggs alot if you step on the gas more. Checked the compression and all four was low, 75-70-70-60. I think it might be bad head gasket, what do you guys think?
