Just got the BSE done and now my car has high oil pressure (I expected it to increase somewhat but it's almost at the "H" at highway speeds), and White exhaust smoke when the car reaches operating temperature and between shifts if the car spools, but not when it doesn't. Is my turbo gone? I didn't notice any smoke before the BSE.

Considering u installed it correctly and rotated the balance shaft bearings in the block and properly closed plugs on the oil pump. Do u have a after market oil pressure gauge? Who installed it and did u install a bse on a stock motor for the heck of it?
 
You did both shafts correct? Well, of course you did: you have high oil pressure now. Just a side note: I really dont understand why people(NOT drag cars) remove the front BS. Just cut the belt and use the stub shaft in the rear. Done. Your oil pressure shouldnt change.

To address your problem, it does sound like the seal in the turbo is going. Its seeing unknown-high oil pressure now and probably couldnt take it. You dont have a real oil press gauge handy do ya? Anyway, like the others said: Port the ofh and that should do the trick. Hope its nothing more than a turbo seal. Good luck

I had it professionally done at a DSM/Evo shop.

I don't have an Oil Pressure Gauge, and no it wasn't for the heck of it, I snapped two balance shaft belts and did it as a precautionary measure.

You have to port the OFH you know! To compensate the extra oil pressure.
Probably the extra pressure blew your turbo where are you feeding it from?

Thanks, I'm now searching how to port the ofh. Hopefully it's something I can handle.


:edit: I'm seeing a lot of stuff for people doing the BSE after builds with bigger turbos and such. Is there step by step for a noob, or a recommended method for going about it (I'm presuming with a dremel).

and most importantly is the car safe enough to drive for a few days to a week?
 
Look up jafromobile on YouTube he has a lot of videos explaining 4g63 related things especially with oil modifications.
 
I would personally not run the car with high oil pressures. You have a chance to do some damage to your oiling system and turbo. As far as I know the T25 turbo doesn't have an inline oil pressure restrictor due to the fact that when fed from the cylinder head pressures don't exceed operating capacity.

I would port the OFH, but do it in increments because once you take material away you will have trouble putting it back.
 
The 2g t25 is fed from the OFH stock not the head as with a 1g. Running a car with very high oil pressure can damage a lot of internal parts I think the turbo should be the least of his worries.

I believe that there was a restrictor in one of the stock fittings on the oil filter housing.

You run the risk of killing your turbo (if the seals aren't blown already) and getting oil leaks due to blown seals from the extremely high oil pressure.
 
The restrictor for t25 is built into the top of Chra where oil line attaches. And you most likely blew the oil seal in the turbine housing already it doesn't take much to do it! Stop driving the car get a oil pressure gauge and some adapters that you can put inline in a few spots and get the oil pressure right! This will be done by porting the ofh. And for future don't do any mods till you have full understanding of what you are doing. And everything related or that could be effected by your mod. You can easily damage your motor permently if not carful. If you keep running the car with high pressure you are going to start blowing any seal that is weak or feels like poping! (Rear main seal, cam and crank seals, turbo seals, valve stem seals, and more) and this site has every bit of info you could need to do just about Anything to a 4g63. You just need to learn how to search for it!!! And that is very easy!!!

What should be my next course of action? I just drove home from work and am parking the car until it gets taken care of.

Should I contact the shop or attempt porting the OFH myself? :aha:

Couldn't be more wrong.

Not only is the T25 fed from the filter housing at the factory and not the head, there is a .070" restrictor in the fitting which threads into the housing. :|
