Car runs fine, fuel pump shuts off, car dies.

Hey guys, previously I had a problem with the fuel pump wiring getting burnt up and such, but I replaced the wires with new ones and everything looks good.

Today after fixing it I started the car, and it ran good for a few minutes, but as I was listening to the fuel pump it just shut off. A second after that, the car shut off. I cranked the car again, and it started fine, and ran for a long time. Turned it off, started it again, and it rain fine once again.

After that I cleaned out the car and did a few things, then started the car again. Same problem was happening. Car would run fine with no problems, fuel pump would shut off, then car would shut off.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on?

Is there still power at the pump when it shuts off?

Did you hard wire your fuel pump straight to the battery using a relay or did you just replace the existing factory wiring with the same gauge? If you just replaced the factory wire, you mights have missed a section where the wiring was fried. If you haven't done so yet, rewire your fuel pump using 10 gauge wire, a relay, and an inline fuse straight from you battery. See if that fixes your problem. If should cost about $10 in parts and an hour to do. Just a suggestion. GOOD LUCK!

Yeah try what lasertim said first. If there isnt power then try what I said.
