So out of no where my car isnt starting. Just did plugs, wires, fuel filter, the whole 9 yards.

My car is just cranking, volt gauge is reading all the way to the left(8 volts)
so i charged my car and I cranked it, it shot up to 2500k and heard this very loud grinding, noise. like flywheel area. then it shot down and would just crank.

help?

btw, last week i fixed the timing, it jumped and was misfiring bad, it was off 2 teeth!
I re timed it and it was fine until this happend....also i had msp put in a stage 5 south bend clutch

Sounds like another misdiagnosed case of crankwalk.

Until you measure the crank's endplay to be out out of spec, don't make a CW claim.

Crankwalk generally doesn't cause any strange noises on the flywheel side. Sounds to me like one of your flywheel bolts came loose or something along those lines.

I absolutely despise when people claim crankwalk without actually checking for crank end play.

If you just had a clutch done i would be looking in that area. Another great claim of cw to add to the already bad name of a 7bolt.

okay so the car randomly started now?

when i clutch out, or give a flick of throttle the whole car jerks...so idk if its starting to walk or what.

its really cold here too(chicago)...

Sounds like a deffinate clutch issue to me. My buddys GSX did something similar after he did a clutch replacement.. Also I wouldnt doubt you have at least a couple bent valves being that you jumped 2 teeth!! Thats a pretty big jump. Id suggest doing a compression test.

It's always crankwalk...

My exhaust fell off, must be crankwalk.

This has nothing to do with crankwalk, this has everything to do with an improper clutch adjustment.

All the crankwalk cases I saw when I worked at the dealer usually just came towed in for no start which was because they walked out enough to not make contact with the crank sensor plate. Once you pushed the crankpulley in the car usually would start. But never have I ever seen one that made noise especially on the flywheel side. If anything is would be on the crankpulley side from makeing contact with sensor plate. I agree with everyone else I would look good and hard at the clutch install.

still dont know why it wouldnt start that one morning

Shitty ground probly.. If there isnt a good ground from the intake mani to the firewall the starter will just click.. As well as the ground for the starter, just got kicks n gigs Id double check the grounds in the engine compartment.

Facts About Crankwalk:

1. Crankwalk is caused when a Honda Civic, Acura Integra or Ford Mustang revs at you at the light. Your car finds this so funny it laughs the thrust bearing loose.

2. The only way to truly check for crankwalk is to check your clutch to flywheel clearance while your friend continuously turns your car on and off while clutching in and out.
