Took the car out and just trying to get an initial tune on it. No boost leaks, compression at 160,160,165,170 on 1g rod/2g piston combo about 150-200 miles on motor. Only running 10psi right now with EV08 factory base map and global fuel set for PTE 1000cc injectors. The only thing i can see being new to link is I'm super rich running 10:1 on my wideband under boost. Also running GM maf with ECMlink direct cable,VRSF FMIC, ported head, 272 Crower cams, springs, retainers, and fuellab AFPR with base fuel pressure set at 43.5psi. Turbo is a Turbonetics 60trim DSM bolt on turbo with internal gate. As soon as i hit about 5500rpm car acts like its hitting the rev limiter. I'm confused as to what is happening and I can't take the car to get tuned until the engine is broke in more.

Hi,
What is your plug gap at? And what type and age wires do you have?

Crappy wires, Or too big of a gap will cause all of your problems.

The wide band will read rich during misfires.

If your wire are good, Close the gap up t0 .020", Try that.

Just to add, Closing the gap can also hide a weak ignition problem, So make sure the wires and coils are good.

Everything on the car is new besides the coil, fresh plugs, and wires. Car isn't misfiring/backfiring it is pulling a steady 10:1 afr under boost then as soon as you hit 5500 it falls on its face and hitting what feels like a rev limiter. Plugs are NGK BPR7ES gapped at .028".

It looks like your NTLS is kicking in. You say 5500, but your log says closer to 6k.

Your car thinks the clutch is depressed in the log when this happens (value of 0)

https://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/cltchsw

if you uncheck the NTLS box, it should pull to redline. I would guess that the pedal is not going all the way up. Check the bushings. When your foot is all the way off the clutch you should not be able to lift it up with your foot. If you can, your pedal bushings are probably shot.

You also have a lot more tuning to do before screaming this thing to 8k. You dip WAY low in the 10's and then start ramping up and its at 11.0 before the NTLS kicks in. If it keeps on that same trend it's going to be WAY lean soon.

Good catch on the clutch switch I didn't even think of that. I'll have to check the switch adjustment because I rebuilt the pedal as it had typical 1g wear. As far as the AFR goes my wideband reads 10:1 all the way until the limiter was hitting. Even the log is reading 10:1 is there something I'm not displaying that shows a more accurate AFR? I need to get my wideband setup but this AEM is a pain.

Don't confuse AFREstimate with your wideband reading. @ 5700 ish your AFREst is asking for 10.0:1, but the wideband is reading 11.1:1.

She's definitely trailing lean on you. (see image, yellow is the AEM output, Blue is the AFREstimate)

also, your tps is out of calibration. it is showing 1% when your foot is off the throttle.

Start a log (engine off), go 0-100% throttle.
Stop log.
Run TPS Adjust tool in link.

I did run the TPS auto adjust when I first set everything up wonder why its off I will do it again and greatly appreciate your help. I went in and turned my AEM UEGO WB on now that I found it I will calibrate it because I know it's off as I never calibrated it and it is showing 17:1 which it never runs that lean. I am running the ECU input buffer on the EGR input on the ECU as well. I wrote some stuff down and I'll make those adjustments and settings this week sometime and try to get another good log. Is there anything else you noticed that looks incorrect let me know.

Sometimes the TPS adjust tool doesnt quite get it all ironed out and you have to make a manual adjustment to get it zeroed out.

The funkiness in the AEM is the reason I didn't buy it this time. I had one in my teal laser, and loved the way it operated, but disliked the way it worked with Link. I bought the Innovate MTX-L this time, and couldn't be happier. Logs perfectly in link, and no funky calibration settings necessary.

Do you have another available input that you could run your AEM on (perhaps the front o2 and enable narrowband sim?) this is how I run my MTX-L and it works great.

Another thing to consider, the evo8 timing maps are way conservative because of the compression they run. Being that you are on a 2g piston motor, I would probably start with those maps.

I figured if I ran the EVO8 maps I would be safer breaking in the motor before I get the car professionally tuned. Only problem is the car has started smoking pretty now that's why I checked the compression. It wouldn't start one day and I had 60,30,30,140 for compression. I soaked the pistons in ATF for a week and the car instantly fired up. That drive it smoked like crazy for about 20 minutes of drive time the it drastically reduced. After that drive my compression was 155,130,130,155. The last drive which is the log you saw my compression was 160,160,165,170. The car is smoking on decal and hard boost now. I starting to suspect the turbo seals have blown, because I can't see this amount of smoke with over 160 compression. So I'm trying to get the tune decent enough to seat the rings with a variable load if that is my issue.
