Car goes CLUNK!!!!

Pulled into my parking lot today, and right as I do *CLUNK* goeas my car and it dies! I roll right into my parking spot and check things out. I see oil is everywhere (my oil gauge doesnt work) so I let it cool off, and SOB my oil filter was holding on by 1 thread. There was no oil in it at all. I put 4 qt.'s in it, hoping it would just fix its self, but all it did was crank. My water light came on, and my check engine light. Is my engine toast? Please I hope to god no. I just put it in a month ago.

did ur engine hit the floor? maybe dislodged ur oil pan or broke it

If it drove without oil long enough to go "clunk" and die, then you're looking at a rebuild, sorry

Most likely it siezed up from lack of oil (obviously ) not to sure why water light went on though unless it has something to do with the water pump bearings going too. sorry man

Before you hit the road again, buy an oil pressure gauge.
