When im driving the car will make a clicking noise that sounds like its coming from the radio compartment and it will try to die. When im idling and it does that it will just die. Any ideas?

sounds like MPI but just in case if you have an a/m stereo check the wires are not grounded or in wrong order. not saying its the reason im saying its process of elimination. but if your getting click on your radio could also be an exposed spark wire. just my two cents.

yeah the check engine light comes on when it does it.
I read the forum you were in about the other relay problem that turned out to be the ecu.
My car has that same clicking problem but what im wondering does the relay click when its bad too. How much do you fix ecu's for?

Just checked my ecu theres is some white shit you can see that oozed its way down the board. The check engine light comes on tho and i was told that it wouldnt come on if the computer was fried?

Could be anything in the power circuit that causes it to be intermittant, from the battery terminals to the wire at the ECU connector but considering that every 1G ECU either needs the caps replace or will if it doesn't die/blow up first I'd start by looking at the ECU. These are pretty much classic symptoms of the capacitor leaking and damaging the ECU.

The computer might not be fried so that could be why the CEL still comes on for a few seconds when you turn the key. You mentioned that it does it while its idling or at cruising speeds so that means something stops working after it heats up.
A new relay is going to cost your around $80 from a Mitsu dealer but that ECU is going to need some attention whether its the ECU causing the above symptoms to happen or not. Now that you've found out your ECU needs reworked I'd say send it in and get it fixed. Even if it doesn't take care of the problem and you still have to replace the relay at least repairing the ECU wasn't for nothing.
