Car died

Hey guys,

I was heading home tonight and when I was pulling out of the parking lot my car was screeching when I turned the wheel left or right. I figured something was wrong with the power steering and figured it would be something minor. About 5 minutes later on my way home, car still screeching on turns, all of the power in my car started to slowly die out. My car literally was completely dead as I pulled into my parking lot. I noticed in the last couple hours it's leaking what looks to be oil. I haven't had a chance to look at it because it's dark out and I've been busy but does anyone have any ideas what it might be? I just thought it was weird that it was screeching then lost all power a few minutes later which seems like an alternator problem. .. but doesn't explain the noise? I took a quick peak at the engine bay and couldn't see anything at all wrong with it.. belts were all intact ect.. Any help would be great.. Thanks!

Well if a oil line burst or came undone, it could have leaked onto the belts and thats why it started to squeal. This could mean loss of power because the belt than began to slip.

Are you sure? Have you let the car sit? Because the oil may have dried up.

i agree he alternator caused the dying and the oil could have caused it to spueal just like if you get wsome mositure on the belts they squeal so thats it check ## oil pressure did it go downnnn all the way

alternator tensioner came off.. wow I'm retarded.. coincidentally the turbo oil feed line was leaking.. thanks guys.
