car died

hi guys... i dropped a bolt down the timing belt housing a few months ago and was too lazy to pull it out... so then one day i was driving and the car's rpms just drop then it dies... i try to restart it and the engine won't turn at all... is it the bolt maybe jamming up the gears or the pulleys or something? i was gonna part the car and i don't know if i have to heart to... the car is 3 states away right now at my parents so any suggestions... cause if is the head imight just replace it... i love her so much it makes me cry that i was so lazy and now i have to deal with this

If I were you, I'd hope that it just jammed something, and you didn't skip any teeth or anything. Worse case scenario, you ripped your timing belt and now half to basically replace all your valves, and hope that the valves didn't screw up your pistons. I would pull that timing cover off ASAP, and check it out.

i pulled the cover... belt is still there and in one piece, when i tried to start it it turn at first then just stopped turnin all together
