Car Died

Well i pulled out of my subdivision friday gave the car a little gas then all of a sudden it shuts off. so i have my friend come pull me back to the house to take a look. checked the timing, its in tim,e and the belt is good, so i check for spark...none. i checked my coils by swaping them out with a spare i have, but nothing. so im guessing ptu, cas, or ect. then only weird thing i have noticed about it is that when im trying to crank it the tach bounces up and down from 0 to 3 or 4 k. what do u guys think? car is a 99 gst.

i would start off with trying another power transistor and or a cas.

have to find one of each ptu's are almost $200 from the parts store.

does anyone know of any other cars that I can get a PTU from?

They are expensive new but they are usually cheap used on eBay and sometimes "free" at junkyards. But I would test it before I replaced it.

i tested it, no continuity when voltage is applied, 1 & 4 had 3.5ohms and 2 & 3 had 4~ohms. so its off to look for 1. parts stores around here want $200 for one new.....junkyard says $20 and they'll let me test b4 i buy. so well see monday.

This exact thing just happened to my car today! It would jump up to 4k on the tach but will not crank. I let it sit for about 10 mins and tried again and this time I can hear the fuel injectors clicking but that is about it, it seems there is no sparks.

Hopefully you figured out what happen to your car gsXmitsu since I would greatly benefit from this if you did
