Hey guys im new on here and need a answer as this car is my dd. I just put a mbc on it and now it cuts out under boost then it will kick in and out and so on. It just started this wen I put on the mbc it is a cheap one. The only mods I have is front mount intercooler and pipeing kit I set the boost to 14 and I also have no stock mbcs at all plugged in and also have bad o2 bank 1 sensor 2

First, I would remove the boost controller and see if the problem persists. I would be concerned about finding out what is up with the O2 sensor. When the car has problems, adding more boost or power just adds to those problems. Remember, maintenance before mods.

Yeh sounds good. But see the reason I put the mbc on there is because there was a hose from wasregate to turbo and didnteven have the stock bcs so it wasnt even runnin stock boost it was only at 7 LOL and was runnin rich so I figured if I put the boost near were it shud be it wud be ok and stop runnin rich but I deff need that new o2 also LOL

I found out im getting code for bad fps too

### do I do about that damn thing I gotta get it inspected I just got the car and the guy I got it from was a dumb ass LOL

Can't say it enough, boost leak test lul.

Bank 1 sensor 2 shouldn't have any effect, that's that cat-checker.

Yeh I put 14 because it wasnt even close to stock it was at 7 running only just wastegate spring

If you're replacing things and have the money for wires, go ahead. Boost leak test wont hurt. Also, check the shaft play in your turbo.

Ok. Dont have much money but it needs a tune up so I will check all that suff while im at it

Possible boost leak, but also sounds like timing retard caused by knock seen by the ECU.

Flawed logic. The ECU tells the injectors how long to stay open based on the amount of airflow reported by the MAS. More boost = more airflow reported = more fuel injected. The stock fuel map uses the same super rich AFR target for everything above about 10psi of boost.
Connect the wastegate actuator nipple directly to the compressor outlet/UICP and see how it runs. If it improves, your MBC install is to blame.
Lol yeh im using my phone and its a little messed up
Invalid excuse for laziness. Plenty of members are able post from their phone with proper grammar and spelling.
Also could it be my plugs are gapped too far and blowing my plugs out under boost
Set gap to 0.028".

as stated before but i never saw answered do you have a boost gauge to verify that your boosting at 14psi? the stock does not tell you boost levels just that you are boosting. go to home depot get a few things and make a boost leak tester and check for boost leak as everyone has stated on here over and over. heres how to make your own or buy 1 off ebay for $15 Boost Leak Testing 101: Building the tool. - YouTube

when the boost cuts out does it feel like your hitting a brick wall?

Ok guys thanks I will boost leak test it. And yes I have aftermarket guage and at 14

I had a similair problem on my 2g when i used the stock bov with my new b16g. it would boost till 9 pounds then car would like shut off then come right back on. I got a hks and that fixed it.
