For the past 2 weeks every time i push in the clutch while driving the rpms drop to like 50 and then jump up to 500 and back up to 800. Also in neutral when i rev up to anything when the rpms drop the car either dies or stops at 50 rmps and then go back to 800. I thought it was the alternator so i took to a pro alternator shop and they told me the alternator was fine. So after that just for a second opinion i took it to oreilly and they said that it was bad. It has an 06 battery and new wires. Also this problem didnt start until i put my pioneer cd player in. (cant drive with lights on because when the rpms drop and the headlights are on the car just dies.) Also i did do a search on this but nothing seem to answer anything for me. thanks in advance.:dsm:

How did u wire up the stereo? Try running a seperate power wire 12 or 14 guage wire to the radio, make sure u put a 30 amp fuse inbetween.
Also run a thicker ground wire for the radio, as short as possible, don't run it from the battery, just find a good ground point on something metal near the radio.

My cd player has a short ground wire connected to the stock ground position and it has the stock radio fuse, about the idle screw it is very loose not sure why, sometimes it idles at 11-1200 and sometimes it idles between 7-800. im taking it to autozone for a third opinion on the alternator.(also had the same cd player in my rs and one week later the alternator went out and blew the fuse).:toobad: :dsm:

Thanks oldman I'll try that today
I would first perform a thorough boost leak test before adjusting the BISS, more likely than not, idle surge is caused by vacuum leaks. How much vacuum are you pulling at idle according to your boost gauge? Is your BOV recirculated? Have you lined up the timing marks to make sure it didn't jump a tooth or 2? Are you running an aftermarket pump without an AFPR? Have you check your spark plugs (NGKBPR6ES) conditions and gaps(.028")? Plug wires?

These are some of the most common causes of the conditions you've described, go though them and eliminate them one at a time, if the problem persists, you can then think about the BISS.

Thanks for all the help the car is almost stock i have intake, 3inch downpipe and exedy clutch and ACT streetlight flywheel. I found the cause of the problem to be the alternator when i went to auto zone they tested it and said it wasn't putting out any amps at all. Ill get a new one and check for boost/vacuum leaks. thanks again.
