99 gsx stock alarm system.. When unlocking my car and opening the driver door the alarm goes nuts.. Used to be every now and then but now its every single time.. And its only the drivers door that does it, I'll unlock the trunk to disarm the alarm. Is the switch broken in the drivers key cylinder that disarms the alarm when the key is turned or something? Also twice before my alarm has been activated randomly, last time happening about 4 months ago.

On the back of the key cylinder there is a plastic piece that is for the alarm. If its all messed up or not on all the way for some reason it can cause issues. I had similar issues with my alarm and ended up replacing both doors alarm switches or whatever its called, the piece on the key cylinder. Mine wouldn't turn with the key all the time. So sometimes the alarm deactivated and sometimes it didn't.

If it keeps going off, put your key in the passenger door. It'll disarm the system also your alternator could be going bad too.

Yeah I put the key in my trunk that also disarmed it, and I looked at my battery grounds, (a grounding kit) and noticed the block to exhaust manifold part of the ground wasn't connected to the manifold (hanging down) I forgot I removed it to take off the heat shield, could that be my problem?

On my 2g I would have to unlock the car, open the driver door then with key still in door then lock it with the door open

You mean unlock and open the door and while the alarm is going off lock the door manually with the button and it'll go off?

When the factory alarm goes off, go to the passenger side door and unlock it and it will shut off.

Or if its doing this everytime, just always unlock the passenger door first and prevent it from going off..

I dont know why my factory alarm only does this during winter occasionally.

EDIT: I DIDNT SEE IT HAD BEEN COVERED ALREADY :p

no lock it back with the key in the door. With mine I didn't have to actually lock it back just start turning the key like your locking it. It would always get one honk out before I could shut it off.
