Hey guys, I had an issue with my passenger door locks sending power constantly, which drained my battery. I took it to the shop, they found the wire in the door, removed the faulty part, rewired everything else and gave me my car back. I have the option of installing the part which they say is the part that connects the driver / passenger door lock to each other. From what I can tell, everything else works fine though. My fob acts as it should, my power lock switches unlock / lock the doors fine. The part isn't essential to me and I don't think I'll get the extra work done.

My problem is this:
When I got the car back from the shop, my car alarm goes haywire every time I open a door. It doesn't matter if the car was locked or not. Simply opening the door sets it off. If I go for a 20 minute drive, it goes off when I open the door, right after I turn off my car and step out. While he was troubleshooting at the shop, he said I would be fine because he pulled the fuse, but it didn't work.

I can't disable the alarm once it goes off. It will continue to make noise for about five minutes, then it turns off. I can start the car with the alarm going off. I can lock / unlock the door locks....nothing seems to disable the damn thing. The guy tried pulling the fuse under the dash...still nothing. The only thing I read online, that I haven't tried yet, is opening the trunk. Will that "surefire" disable the alarm?

So my question is, is there anything anyone can recommend I try to get this thing disabled? I DO NOT want this alarm. I simply want to disable it. Before I took my car in, I didn't even know it had an alarm! I want to get rid of it ASAP!

Secondly, the guy tried telling me that the fob won't work with the passenger door lock part missing. Is this BS? Shouldn't the fob work regardless? It sounds like he just wants me to get this part that connects the passenger / driver door locks, which I couldn't care less about....

Any help is appreciated.

Ok, I'll try that. Thanks.

Secondly, should I be able to start my car with the alarm going off? Is that normal?

Lastly, just for shits and giggles, is pulling the horn wire under the steering column as simple as putting my head under the wheel column, pulling out the right wire, and be on my way?

bro I had that happen to me too.

I could turn on my car while the alarm was going off. I took my car to a audio shop and they fixed it and gave me a special switch in my car that allows me to deactivate the alarm in case that it goes off again oh and by the way I dont remember how much I paid for it happened like 1 year ago.

All i can say is that it is very frustrating to have an alarm that wont shut up unless you unplug your battery when you have it parked at your house:banghead:

Well, I don't need to pay for anything since this was caused by the shop I took it to. The problem is? It's Sunday. I can't bring it in until tomorrow. I'm trying to find out as much information as possible, because they're trying to tell me my FOB won't work without this "other part", which I don't believe to be true.

i put a viper alarm w/remote start in my car...my boy from best buy hooked it up like he does on all my cars...well a month or so later for some reason when i open my door (after locking it from the viper remote) my factory alarm goes off...really embarrassing when u cant turn it off LOL...well i popped the hood and tried removing the fuse that said ALARM...it quieted a portion of the alarm and now made sorta a high pitched sound...well i put the key in the driver door and turned it which deactivated it...every now and then i have this issue...maybe once every 2-3 months..but EVERY time right before i open my door i make sure to have my key handy just to avoid unecessary attention LOL...

Had the same thing happen to me. When it starts to go off, Put your key in the door and turn it as if you were unlocking it. Should fix your problem.

Those ideas did not work. What did work, however, was unlocking my trunk and opening it. I can now turn off the damn thing almost instantly, the problem remains getting it disabled for good :).

This is all very strange.....

After I opened my trunk, which turned off the alarm, I left my car for about an hour (with the doors unlocked. I came back and opened my door and the alarm didn't go off. I then locked my car (with the fob), saw the green security light, left it for another 10 minutes, unlocked the doors (with my fob), and the alarm still didn't go off. Hmm. Hopefully this issue is fixed? :rocks:
