On Friday before I got my new wheels. The guy at the wheel store told me that he was working on another car and I'd have to wait about an hour. So I locked my car and went across the street to the other stores. When I got back the guy was done and told me to pull my car into the garage bay....

So, as I inserted the key into the door handle and turned, the alarm system went off. I do not have a remote or anything to turn this thing off, so I had to pop a fuse out to disable the sound but my flashers were still going off, and it eventually stopped. What can I do to disable this alarm system correctly instead of popping out fuses? I honestly did not know this car had an alarm until that day LOL!

On a true factory alarm you can re-lock the doors with the key and it should shut the alarm off. At least in my case, (Someone backed into my hood and made the alarm hyper sensitive.) this worked for me every time.

But the key in the driver door and turn it to lock/unlock it. It should deactivate it, in my experience anyway.

Was the horn honking, or was it a siren?

You might arm it up, and set off the alarm again and see if turning the key in the passenger door disarms it. If it does, then there is an issue with the disarm trigger in your driver door. If it works, then you at least have a way to disarm it. If it doesn't then it's time to pull your door card and do some wire tracing!

The GST freaked us out one morning with the damn alarm. If we lock the doors from the inside, then try to unlock the car from the outside, the alarm goes off. It's a crazy thing. Haven't had any problems with it since we found out that little tidbit of information. BTW... alarm going off at 4am = not good. :)

I have had my alarm go off before. Scared the living you know what our of me. Had no idea it even had one. I ended up just disconnecting the battery to disable it. It was the quickest and simplest remedy. Glad to know I am not the onle one that this has happened to.
