Has anyone ever installed an alarm (aftermarket) but then had their factory go off when you open the door after unlocking it from the aftermarket. If so, how did you disable the factory or taken out the factory wiring?

Thanks!

KJ

If your alarm had a factory disarm wire on it you need to hook it up to a green/white strip wire that is located in the drivers kick panel. Or if your alarm dont have a disarm wire you may just beable to ground that wire it will keep your factory alarm from arming. But your factory alarm shouldnt arm unless you look your doors with the factory remote or the button on your door. I know mine doesnt and the others ive installed.

I hear ya, but when I bought my 2g, it just had one key and nothing else. I didn't know if it had a factory alarm. That is why I bought the aftermarket one. Are there any diagrams our barneyed style picture intructions on this? Thanks again!

Your car does have a factory alarm but i was referring to the aftermarket alarm when i talked about the factory disarm wire. The aftermarket alarm should have one. But heres a link for the wiring for your car you just have to look it up and it tells were your disarm wire on your cay is. You just have to find the factory disarm output from the aftermarket alarm and hook it up to this wire as long as it is a ground output.
