Pulling the block (head is off) out of my 1991 TSi AWD.
I have everything disconnected, all bolts removed between the block and the transmission.
I have it attached to the hoist, but I cant seem to seperate the block from the Transmission. Is there something Im missing?
The block is about a half inch away from the tranny, its just sorta like something isnt fully apart.
Do I need to use like a pry bar or something?

Thanks for the help guys.

double check all the bolts are removed, assuming they are just use a pry bar and work around the trans, it sits on dowels and the input shaft once all bolts are off.

back side of block on the bottom. It goes through the dowel pin..

LOL, look down through the 1/2" split...do you see any gears? I remember I almost separated my tranny in half when I installed my clutch (don't drink 40's and work on cars :ohdamn:) I used a pry-bar to separate it from the block, although it wasn't too hard to pull off.

Check to make sure all the bolts are out, make sure it's in neutral, and if you need to try to twist it a little and tap it softly with a rubber mallet to try to losing it up.
