im trying to leave trannu in car since its a awd i just cant seem to get it out any tips on what to do am i forgetting something it just feels as if it doesnt come apart need help!

It is by far a lot easier to pull the tranny with the engine...but if you must then you will need to take off the crank pulley and also the bolt that holds on the timing belt sprocket. This will give you just enough room to squeeze it out. Then all you have to do is get the lift on the timing belt side of the engine and hoist it up from there so that it will pull that side up and out of the way enough to get it unhooked. You will need to also undo all the mounts except for the tranny mount so that the tranny can move up or jack it up from underneath to make the angle easier...I have done it this way and it came right out but it sure took a long time to figure it out so I just saved you like 4 hours LOL. If you have more questions then just PM me and I can take pics or what not to help you out

Oh yeah I forgot that part. Yes remove the transfer case as well as the other that I said...and also the power steering pump and alternator if you havent already...also just to tell you....now that I have pulled a motor without the tranny I will NEVER do it again LOL

yeah i dont think ill ever do it like this again anyways walked away from it for today still not out!!

Just take your time, Keep a level head, and think about what you need to do before you do it. A buddy and I tried pulling his motor in one night as well, worked from midnight - 8 a.m. couldn't get the transfer case to separate. Long story short, i went back to the car after i'de woken up from my nap, and it took me 5 minutes to just pull it all together. Kind of a :slapforhead: moment, because we were trying to rush it the wrong way. You'll get it man don't give up.

damn i wish i found this post last night i spent a good 3 or 4 hours trying to figure that same thing out.
