:banghead:ok im new here but ill make this short hope some one can help... my car stopped running one day towed it home then it turned on again but sounded different and i drove it around and had lost a massive amount of power.. i have replaced injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, new valves and cams, compression is 180 across all cylinders ? and still runs very lean

thanks for your help

It could be your plug or a short in your wires coming from the plug after the fuel pump...I just had this same problem (mine is a 1g not sure if they are the same )

 i have checks for leaks and have found none and regulator ???
could a bad cat cause this ?? and plugs and wires imma have to try some new ones im just tired of putting my money in the wrong places

throwing codes p0118,p0403,p1490:confused:

P0118 - OBD-II Trouble Code: P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input

P0403 - OBD-II Trouble Code: P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction

p1490 - Low Speed Fan Control Relay Circuit (most likely a bad relay or the temp switch on the fan)

and this quote was taken from Locke in regaurds to p1490 on our 420a:
On our vehicles, the low speed radiator fan relay is in the engine bay, in front of the computer. It is the middle most relay. Of the two rows of large relays, it is the row on the left, third from the bottom.

Cheers.

thank u all i really appriciate your help and imma fix all the cel codes and see if that helps i hope one of these fixes the problem ....will update when its done ###### be done later 2 day or 2 marro

So i replaced the sensor and fixed the egr and those codes went away n the relay i cantt get till 2 marro but can still runs very sluggish :/

Can you post a video of you starting it and running it? Do you know if it's misfiring or not? I had a similar problem with my 420a and it turned out to be the coil pack - but I also replaced wires and spark plugs. but I did have a misfire code...

So no new codes other than what you said?

Also, if you haven't unplugged the negative terminal on the battery for 20 minutes I would do that. It will reset the computer and start fresh.

Cheers.

only code is the p1490 and againg thank u all for your help . its dark here but i will post a video of it tomarrow. no miss fire but after unplugging battery and putting it back it seems to run better but isnt pulling like it use to but will purchase coil pack and wires just incase to if that helps .to the fuel regulator i have not replaced but will try to order all that tonight and install in the morning :thumb:

try also resetting the computer completely put your key in the on postion with the car off and unhook only the negative on your battery for 15 - 20 mins and itll reset it all do that after you put in regulator if then you still have problems put up a video for us to try and help you

You say you replaced your valves and cams? Why? And if you did, are you positive your timing is on?

so after leaving it unplugged all night and replacing the parts this morning except coil pack still waiting on that the car is running better and feels better i just remember it going alot faster and picking up quicker.and for the cams and valves my car has 130k on it so i just figured y not some new ones ..
will post video later today so u guys can tell me wht u think

forgot to add got 2 new codes
.p0134 oxygen sensor circut no activity detected bank1 sensor 1,
.p1490manufacture controlled auxiliary emission control.
dont know what those mean

Okay, for starters you need to check to see if the front oxygen sensor after the manifold (but before the cat) is plugged in. If it is installed and you're still getting that code, then you need to replace it with a new O2 Sensor - DENSO Part # 2344076. If your front O2 sensor is bad, you will defiantly see a decrease in performance as that front O2 sensor plays a crucial part on how your car runs.

And the P1490 code is that fan relay - it's either bad or you don't have one installed.

Cheers.

havent been on here for awhile went on long vacation but thanks to you all my car is running great and its thanks to all who took the time to help
