Your restrictive airbox silences most of the spool noise you would normally hear. If you have an open filter or a cone filter + MAF adapter you'll hear it.

If I listen I can hear mine (BOV too) & I'm stock except for a K&N OEM type drop in air filter.

The thing was super silent with the factory pieces. After a K&N to replace the airbox and Dejon pipe to replace the factory intake (seriously look inside that thing) you could hear all sorts of fun noises.

Once the filter box is removed and replaced with a cone it will make a lot more noise.
