Can this dumb looking piece circled in red in the pic be removed? I want to do this because I would like the back to look how a laser rear does.

Yes the spoiler can be removed, but it actually looks a lot better if you just paint it red (or body color), like a gsx.

yea, it can be taken off...its only a few nuts, bolts and attatchments. just pull some of your lids plastic paneling off and take the rear plastic paneling out and you will see all the bolts and such. then fill the holes and all that good shit and your good to go. i reccomend painting it also though, looks alot better with it on in my opinion.

So funny, I am going to add one to my laser!!

Yes, it can be taken off. Open your hatch and remove the trim piece in that will be located right above ur head. It just pulls off. There are two bolts that hold the center piece to the hatch. Loosen those first, then the thing just slides towards the rear. If you have a rear wiper, you may have to remove the wiper and drop the motor.

The sides have a bracket that hold them on the rear, by the hatch. Remove the two screws, and they to slide towards the rear. Now you can remove the brackets. Now you will have to fill the screw holes!!

Referance my post and the attached word document. It is for a 91 Laser, but should help you.

Good luck!! :laser:

LOL, i was thinking about painting mine black, maybe even paint the side skirts and the bottoms of the bumper covers black, i think that would look sick. when i have the time and money i think i will do it, but i will photoshop it first to see how it would look

LoL. Yeah I too own a laser and am putting a talon spoiler on it. I don't dig the Euro look. Some do. If I didn't already have one I'd offer to buy it:)

Yeah, you'll have to fill some holes and probably wanna paint it...or the whole car at that point less you get a good color match.

Hell, I'm trying to put a factory wing on my car. I think that my car looks plain without it. Should I go for the Eclipse or the Talon spoiler?

dude please tell me ur not serious about taking that off. Those spoilers are such a good thing for 1gs, haven't u taken a look at the frickin rs and other n/a fwd versions? they look so plain, and then when u see the spoiler it makes it so much better.

all i know is i see the ones without the spoiler all the time, and i wonder why it looks so ugly, then i look at mine and it makes me feel good inside, i have always found my black gsx to look a lot different than most other dsms, maybe its the paint or something, i dunno.
