For anyone who knows what i mean by holding the RPM in te power zone and feeding the power to the groundwith the clutch for the first 30 feet ir so at say 5000 RPM, can a full face ACT live up to these very nany times? Or is it ok once it cools and able to take a lot of abuse untill hot again?

I launch at 5.5k at the track using the 2 step with my ACT 2600 and cut 1.7 second 60' with it on street tires and have never killed one. This is slipping just enough not to bog down but not a hard slip- basically as soon as Im moving the pedal is up (maybe 30' as you said). I usually get about 5- 7 runs in before packing up, and theres usually around 7- 10 mins between runs. Course, my car wasnt making 500hp, and I wouldnt bet it was putting down much more than 350hp judging by my trap and ET. A 2600 with a street disk is pretty damn tough, though you can turn it to kitty hair if you try:p

Yea, I've made a batch of "kitty hair" i was maybe my second day into driving on the new 67mm turbo and granny shifted fourth from third at 8500 RPM and it just went "poof!"

That's why it now has the RPS street disk (was said to be tougher by most i've talked to using their clutches)

The 2 biggest things i'm affraid of on the new AWD swap are

A.) wide open 3rd gear pull (because that's how the stock FWD tranny went out) and

B.) any kind of aggressiveness leaving the line (affraid of breaking the center diff) I mean i've got out into traffic with it but I've never just put power down fast, at most i've slipped it at 3500 or so and half throttle, but never went wide open untill the clutch was fully engaged and then i was waiting on the lag to go away (basically never any form of "shock" cause i can't afford to have anything break right now)

I tried finding videos showing some 2g launches with stock trans but no one advertises that with a tag "stock trans" on youtube LOL

As far as avoiding driveline shock, when youre slipping the disk and start to move, youve got the "slack" out and you should be ok to punch it. The 2 spider center is definitely weak for launching though and with the power youre putting down I wouldnt expect it to hold for long if launching, though you might be ok for pulls from a roll. Im going to be taking a tranny with a 2 spider apart in the coming weeks that Ive launched at least 100 times, and Im afraid to see what she looks like:tease:

Full face disc's don't like a whole lot of slipping. If you are wanting to preload than i would get a puck.

it's been handling the power from a roll easy launch already and feels great, i'm keeping the boost a little lower though and still loving traction, I don't even need third gear i jkust love getting to 45-60MPH in an instant, something the FWD had never been able to do

yea, I am aware of that, but i have no money for a puck disk, which is why i'm asking what they can take from those who've put em to the test, other wise i would have just abused it and replaced it, but being broike, dissabled and low on side work i have to plan every damn dettail. I want to feel performance of AWD, and the best holeshot i can, based on the minoir detail of staying within bounds of the parts i curretnly have.. on FWD i could fan my cluitch at 70MPH on the highway and itwould grip and light the tires up, but after three or so good slips/fannings it would get warm enough to slip on the 4th one or so, then i'd let it cool for the remainder of the drive... i usually just did this to get the vette's sweating out on interstate I-80 :D
