Act2600

I just read the tec. artical about this, but it wasn't covered in it. I just got my tranny down in my 90 gsx, and the new clutch 2600 on. I then stoped to take a break and hopped on the forms. I found the tec. artical about the steping on the flywheel and got really freaked out. I was wonding if I can keep the stock steping with the 2600? Because if not then I will either have to get it cut, or buy a XACT fly. I don't really want to spend the 250 for the fly, but if the fly cost more than 175 then I'm just gonna get the XACT. I know for a fact that the XACT's step is .615", and I think the stock one is .618" or something like that. Any info will be apreciated. Thanks!

does any one know if you can use the completly stock fly with the act 2600??

when i got my act clutch i didn't buy a new fly wheel. I took it to a clutch shop and they took care of everything. I am still using the stock flywheel. I am not sure if you need to do anything to it though.

Yes, you can use the stock flywheel with an ACT2600 but it better be resurfaced properly and the step height checked accurately. I would even take it a step further and have the flywheel and clutch assembly balanced while it's out. The pressure plate is notorious for being out of balance, even new.
