Just wondering if there is a way that my filter housing that I am tapped into
can cause my mechanical oil pressure gauge to show low pressure?
This is a new rebuild the bearing clearance is with in spec. But what I have noticed
is that I only get about 10 psi at idle warmed up. The pressure does build up to 65-70 when I get on the throttle. If I take the oil cap off and get on the throttle there is oil shooting out the filler hole. I have no balance shaft and there are no oil squirters. I am running 10w40 for my break in.
If this is the case can I tap into the head I noticed that near the thermostat on the head there is a bolt that if removed oil spills out. Forgot to plug this hole on first start
. Since I have plugged it but wondering if there is another place I can tap into and check oil pressure?
Thanks
