can resurface then paint my chrome rims

I got a set of chrome rims that are pretty beat up ( I think there chrome gst wheels but i don't know), got them for cheap so whatever. The chrome is pealing off and i would just like to get them sandblasted and painted, possibly powdercoating. Is this possible with chrome?

I get in wheels to coat quite often that are chromed. Chrome cannot be blasted off though it does help slightly etch the chrome so the powder can adhere better. I always smooth out everywhere that is peeling so that it transitions smoothly and put a primer over top of the chrome to fill in what defects may be left. If you don't smooth them out before coating or painting you're just asking for the finish to be ruined as it will still peel up the chrome and ruin your finish.

Not sure, I don't use paints nor know them. I only use powdercoat.

Powdercoat them. It will hold up much better

Powdercoating is much more permanent (and better looking) solution, although I have painted some wheels also as a quick fix. VHT wheel paints aren't bad, and they make a decent clear coat too.
You can get them at any local auto parts store.

ive painted rims with flat black spray paint before , it actually looked good and held for a year! then id wash and sand them, tape off the tire, and reapply another coat when the old stuff wore out. VERY cheap fix but i tell you, it looked good. no shit
everyone is right though, if money isnt an issue get a powdercoating.
for now, im doing the same thing on my chipped chrome rims that came with the car. just grab a can of flat black
