Bumping to add more info regarding longevity following the in-frame rebuild....
Car ran perfect with that low-budget rebuild until it was taken off the road about 8 months ago...the car would no longer pass state inspection at 219K....so around 47,000 miles were driven after that rebuild and it never missed a beat. The used timing belt hung in there and was replaced about 5,000 miles before the car was retired when the used tensioner pulley finally gave out. A new OEM belt was installed along with a new Gates Racing balance belt and all new pulleys at the time.
The engine is still alive today in a friend's 1G daily-driver, 219K and counting.
