can I use my blakberry for logging?

I just bought a new blackberry storm and was wondering since its a PDA can I use it to log as well? I mean is there anything I can load on it to use as a logger?

Nope. Your first problem is getting a cable that would plug into the side of your blackberry, the second problem would be finding the software (none exists). If someone wrote an application I would happily use it but really it isn't realistic since the BBs have only a single input so running a wideband would be rather hard if you didn't route it through an unused input.

Keep in mind that even though a BB is loosely a PDA it is certainly not a Palm so it can't use the Palm programs for logging.

Much more exciting IMO is the idea of logging to SD cards which IIRC was supposed to be a feature available with the Openport 2.0 cable but I'm not sure if that is now a reality or not.

If there is anyone who would be a good person to encourage to make a logging program for your phone it would be Hamish from Evoscan. He currently has ported the Evoscan program to a specially adapted GPS unit but it as already Windows based IIRC. You would be much more likely to get a port to a Windows Mobile device such as an HTC Touch.

What do you use for logging? I have a 2g, so it probably won't work, but you don't see too many people using their WM device. I have the same phone though!

it is out and running but for the life of me i cant think of exactly where i read the post.... i think i read mention of it on EVOm someone asked if it was up and running and a link was posted on how to set it up. not sure exactly what items got logged though.
