Thanks. I'm always pleased to see a mature attitude around here.

Nope.

I went to radioshack and bought some long wire with a bunch of conductors in it, it may have been telephone wire or something. Then I just cut and soldered all the connections.

It did't take me more than about an hour, including all the routing and such.

but the 6ft extension will work, right? what place of the firewall did you drill through? where did it go through in the interior side? and where did you mount it?

Yes, if Mike sells it I'm sure it will work. BUT what do we do with the side of the maft that's suppose to plug into the 2g maf plug under the hood. Then do we solder those connections to the ecu (noone answered my previous question about this).

It isn't allowed here. www.dsmreviews.com might be a better choice.
Please consider this a friendly warning.

I missed the post in question. What aren't we allowed to do here? Give feedback if asked on how dealing with a particular vendor was? Just asking, not trying to make any trouble...

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I found it:

So in all this back and forth shit, the maft and afc do the same thing. You don't "need" both but can run both. I personally zero the mAFT out for now, then use the afc. I plan on running the translator into the car, then I an going to try the maft. Or just keep it like it is, it works.

Ive been running the MAF-T for a long time, and I prefer to have my MAF zero'd out as well. It has done many odd things to my fuel trims and drivability. So I zerod everything out, and tuned my car (660s) on the AFC completely and the car ran much better, and my fuel trims stuck right at 100%+ or - a few.

Soon, I will even be ditching the AFC for DSMlink for 1gs....Ohh, so sexy. Timing & fuel control, nitrous controls, diagnostic functions, injector deadtime adjustment, datalogging...Awesome.

Also, you ask why to get the MAFT if you wont tune with it?

1. If running in blow through, you can run the car still (limp) if you blow an intercooler connection.

2. Can use more standardized intake filters and piping. Useful especially when upgrading to turbos with enlarged inlets compared to stock.

3. Can actually run a cold air intake. Dont debate the gains of this with me here please. All I will say is that there is a benefit, especially on turbo cars.

4. Much less of a restriction compared to a 1g MAF.

5. Can use the Auxuliary wire to tune for water/propane/nitrous injection.

6. For those that care, you can vent to atmosphere without adverse effects.

So even if I ignore the fuel tuning that is built in, there is still plenty of benefit.
