I just installed a maft blow through set up, i left the translator zeroed out, now it seems my car is running too rich, the turbo wont spool and it sputters at WOT... it did the same thing when I put my injectors in untill i leaned it out, so should i zero out my SAFC and set the base with the MAFT? or just work with what i have using the SAFC settings

What version of the MAFT do you have? If you have version 2.0 or newer, then you should sell the SAFC and tune with the MAFT alone.

I don't know what the stigma around tuning with the MAFT is. It generates an airflow signal close to the one generated by a stock 1g MAF, and then the knobs do airflow corrections in percentages just like a SAFC.

yes, you should try to at least set the base on the MAFT the proper way. What is the point in having it if you aren't going to use it and use the SAFC to tune with.

I would set the base knob properly first, then mess with your idle knob, you can usually get away with leaving the mid at 0. Then I would make some pulls and log them watch for knock. Then use your SAFC to adjust accordingly in whatever rpms you need to adjust.

When i first put my MAFT in, it sucked having to keep pulling over on the highway and pop the hood to adjust the base, then the wot knob when seeing knock. It would have been nice if i had a SAFC to use inside the car, that is about the only benefit of having it. You can adjust from inside the car.
