can i got to a 20g with the 450 injectors?

and if not can i get more then 15 psi out of my small 16g and will my injectors keep up with 17 or 18 and can what causes boost spike? just curious if i need to watch for it.
and alternator light is on on my instruments but voltage guage holds steady? but car is all runing good now no more idle issue!!

You can just you need to lower your boost, 20g have beater flow like 16g

ok as far as your mods go you will need to upgrade your injectors to go with the 20g i mean ive done it but didnt want to risk hurting the engine, i mean 15 will be good with the 16g but as far as i know ive tried to push 18 but id recommend dsmlink and i dont see a fuel pump or afpr on your mod list
 
I ran 24psi on 560cc injectors, on 93 octane gas (with supporting mods obviously). That was a hella fun street setup.

As for a 20g on 450's, sounds like a bad idea. Just save up if you want to upgrade.
 
As far as the 20g goes I would probably not use it unless your going for more than 22 psi.

The 16g can should be good to support plenty (btw what kind is it)

I would def get at least 550cc injectors and a fuel pump.

Right now I have an evo3 16 g, 550cc's, 255 fuel pump, and maf translator pro. Im running 20 psi and am having no problems.

Verdict: stick with the 16g, upgrade pump and injectors, if you run more than 15 psi you'll have trouble with fuel cut so get some fuel control (ie apexi safc, dsm link, translator) All in all it should not cost too much (the fuel control is kinda expensive tho)


and for the love of God make sure you at least have an ACT 2100 clutch or all that power will blow your tranny LOL
 
You'd need to keep the boost low to prevent detonation due to the additional airflow.

A 20G doesn't wake up until 20+psi, plus it's the laggiest of all the available Mitsu direct bolt-on turbos for our cars. If you're running low enough boost to make a 20G work with your injectors, you might as well choose a smaller turbo- something that would be more efficient at lower boost level and spool quicker.
 
There's absolutely no need for you to even thinking about a 20g right now, especially when you have no fuel mods and haven't seen the high boost of a 16g. You may be at 15 psi or whatever the hell it was, but the difference between 15 and 24 will be huge. You'll see.

My suggestion is to get some fuel mods, ill list below what I think, this way it'll leave some room for a 20g later.

Fuel:
860 cc injectors,
255 with fpr
Get a wide band and afc and you should be set for a little while. You can tune with the afc and the wide band tells you where your at, thatll be more then enough for the 16g and most likely well enough for a 20g.
 
20g youcan do on 450cc but you will need a fuel pump and FPR. Just run stock boost if you go with the 20g. I ran a 20g with just a wally 255 and it was great. But I was only pushing 10 psi no more than that.

yes..

due to a little bad luck with jobs and what not i have been on a tdo5 20g on 450s for close to a year now. i really don't mind it.

im running about 10psi creeping to 18psi stock 7bolt ftw!!
