can I fit a hood in the hatch?

I don't think its possible, but I'm trying to pick up a hood and all I own are dsms. Not trying to swap on the spot.

You should be able to get the front of the hood in but as the hood gets wider it wont go all the way in. Basically youll have to keep the hatch open or tied down. You should have some cardboard in between the hood and hatch so you dont dent it. This is the way I did it with a Honda Civic hood which is smaller than a 2g hood. Hope this helps.

I suppose I could also strap it to the roof as well haha. Problem is, it's a 45 minute highway drive. Maybe I'll just fork out some extra cash and get an eBay hood, $160 shipped to my door.

How about you take your hood off, and drive out to pick up your new hood. Bolt it on, and drive home. It is rather easy to install. Mark the location of the bolts on the brackets with a sharpie and take the bolts and a few rags with you to stuff in the edges by the windshield while you tighten down the bolts.

Another option would be to rent a van or truck from Home Depot. They have very cheap rates if you cannot barrow another vehicle.
Buy a friend lunch to have them help you get hood if they have something larger.

I fit a front bumper in my 1g WITH 2 subs im sure it will fit if you angled it and pulled the seats down and just support your own weight for 45mins while drivein if you can do it

So much thoughtful advice
I'd prefer not to drive 45 mins on the highway with no hood in this weather, considering the PA roads are frosted with salt.
Im not trying to rent a truck. No credit card.
I have no friends with a car/truck big enough available on my only day off, except for my neighbor who would probably drive me to either homicide or suicide if I was trapped in a vehicle with him for 1.5 hours.
Unfortunately I just threw out a dented hood, but my measurements show that it probably isn't possible.
Just wanted to know if anyone ever pulled it off.

Even if it fits in the hatch you risk damaging the hood and your interior. borrow a truck.

Just for the record, a DSM hood will NOT fit inside a DSM. That is, there's no opening to the interior that's big enough to accommodate its dimensions (regardless of how it's oriented).
