I just recently went to smog my car and it passed emissions no problem. However guy doing the smog failed me ### air intake is illegal. The issue is I don't have the stock airbox so what I replace the intake with. Any suggestions

It's not that bad in Cali at least it doesn't rain everyday..hahaha

K & N comes with a carb number as well I got all kinds of mods and it passes smog no prob.

It may rain here but atleast we got awsome emissions. I have never seen a visual inspection done and have always passed with no cat, o2 dump, no initake pipe, none that stuff, no emission lines. This is for washington and oregon. Whenever they pop the hood they always are like oh cool car man. I am not saying this only for me lots of my friends and family friends cars have just gone in and out no questions asked. But every place is different. I have drove down to cali I can't stand there traffic and I could definitely not even stand there emission. Alot of washington and oregon have places where emission are not even required witch makes it easy just need to get mail out to those locations and your good.

man I would't let the smog guy put my awd on the rolls I would just say cool give me the key and I'm out of there, you have to have a hook up here in california if your car does not pass maybe 2 or 3 hook up s just in case one of them gets busted

Very true. You will have to have connections out here. I just cheat smog mine three weeks ago. Looks like after I install all my parts I'll probably have to cheat for the time I own this car which will be a long time.
But there was just some stock intake for sale on classifieds a few days ago. I just hope your searching hard enough.

Yea, me either. I thought I covered that base when I gave him the keys and told him, "the car is AWD, the VIN # is a FWD VIN but the car is AWD so don't put it on the rollers." Unfortunately though I think there might have been a language barrier there and he was just agreeing but didn't fully understand what I was saying. From the waiting room I heard the car roll up into the garage, shut-off, then 5 minutes later start back up and idle for a few then the door shut. I heard the engine rev up and I thought, "damn, that was fast", thinking he was backing it out but that wasn't the case.

He's lucky there was a good 5 feet of space in front of the rollers or else my car would have hit something and it wouldn't have gone well for him. In my defense I had it written on the work order too so it wasn't just a verbal heads-up and it still wasn't good enough.
