Buying a gst this weekend with a kar king rebuild.

So im picking up a 95 gst with a kar king rebuilt 7 bolt engine with 0 miles on it. I called kar king and asked what parts they use in their rebuild process and he asked for the customers name so he can be certain to which engine i am asking about. He told me the timing components are mitsubishi and the pistons and such are a brand called safety. Ive never heard of this brand and im kind of nervous now. Is this some kind of ebay junk?

I have never heard of that brand. I would try to see if I can get a part number out of them and go from there.

They should have documented everything they used and ordered for that engine build.

Looks like they usually sell hastings rings with them to. Seems legit to me.

So should i not worry about it? I took the number 4 spark plug out and the engine is soooo clean. The car overall is nice.

He took out the number 4 plug and looked at the cylinder wall and piston. Everything was very clean, as it should be on a 0 mile engine.

i've seen safety brand parts offered on websites that offer custom rebuild packages. Sort of like OEM from what ive heard. But I could be wrong

Just an update ive been driving the car for a week and its problem free as expected. Runs flawlessly.
