Any experiences with Kar King?

i was looking at karking.com and they have full rebuilt 6-bolt longblocks for $1,150. it looks and seems like a great deal but has anybody had any experience good bad or indifferent with them? i don't wanna get a half-ass engine do be honest

I just got my motor swap done in my 90 gsx there. 1500 was done in 3 days. a little problem with the timing belt cover but he was propt to fix it. good shop in my mind. motor runs strong. Definetly go with them.

i just ordered a fully rebuilt 6bolt shortblock from them. They are cool guys and they have a very good reputation. 750 shipped to my garage. Not bad. They use torque plates and mitsu OEM parts. They service engines for mitsu dealers all over california and such. Check em out, give them a call, ask for george.

I see they sell a 2.4L shortblock for $550, will that bolt up to a 1g head and bolt right into the car like a normal 2.0L would?

Seems like a steal if they're new.

I was going to buy a short block but they said they wouldnt warranty it. Did any one else run into this problem? Not even a 6 month warranty, nothing at all wtf!

But if I but a long block 7 bolt for 1750 plus 200 shipping then I could have a 6 month warranty. has anyone ran into a problem like this at kar king, they seemed cool I was actually calling to order my short block until I was informed of this.

im not worried about a warranty. If it blows up, ill just fix it myself. My car is far from stock, I pretty much have ever bolt on imagineable except nitrous. They are cool guys and I trust their work, you'll be fine. You cant beat the price tho. They build the same motors for TONS of mitsubishi dealers.

Will they give u a warranty on stuff that I would install such as if I ordered a motor and had it shipped to me and I installed it? Do there rebuilt motors really look as nice as the pic? Also anyone look into the 2.4 long block yet? I have a 95 talon with a six bolt swap and I see that they only sell the 2.4 long blocks for 95-99 would I have to rewire back to a 2g again?

I know this thread is old but most people give reviews right away I was wondering if you guys still have the motor in your car and how is it holding or not holding up?

No 6bolt longblocks bolt directly into a 2g. You need to do a "6bolt swap" as its being referred to now. Search for it.

As far as kar king, I bought their 6bolt longblock, and it looks great, but I havent started it up yet.

They DO NOT use OEM Mitsu parts for their engines, they use some other company. I forget the exact name, its on their site. Ill let you know how it runs, Im starting it up either monday or tuesday.

Actually some of their parts are Mitsubishi OEM, for example - the front case and oil pump.
There is another post on here that George(from Karking) says what he puts in.

For you to get a motor from them that bolts in, you must 1ST send in your motor - then they will change everything over and ship it back. I ordered a 6 motor from them for my 95 GSX and told them it was for my car (I made it clear I wanted a 2g setup). Well, I got a 6 bolt N/T
long block w/ 1g turbo pistons.

[For anyone that wants to know]
Now, if you trust yourself enough to take an engine apart, take it to a machine shop for inspection, cleaning, rehoning or whatever and put everything back together then, all you need to do is order a 6bolt (90'-92.5') Non- Turbo motor for $540 and buy the parts you need to convert it to turbo and your set.
