I was on wiki looking at the 4g63t engine applications just to see if I could go to the junkyard and pull a block myself, so any 1g or 2g N/T could work if its just the block? I plan on replacing crank, rods and pistons so internals wont matter. But I did see a Lancer N/T are they the same?

applications,

1983-1998 Mitsubishi Chariot
1988 Mitsubishi Cordia
1988 Mitsubishi Tredia
1989–2003 Mitsubishi Galant

Any of the 2000+ blocks will have a slightly different bell housing pattern. IF you are interested in a 96 block pm me.

What's wrong with the engine in the car? If the engine in the car needs a rebuild, just rebuild the one in it.

FYI the 4g63 NT blocks have no oil squirters and the 4g63 turbo blocks do. It would be fine to build up the NT block for a turbo application. Just letting you know about the squirters in case you were not aware. :thumb:

this is what I was looking for thank you and I would rebuild my block but I much rather build a block and drop it in.

I would but I been talking to daonlyillwiz about his block he posted in the classifieds.

This is true. But if the OP wants to go with forged internals he wont need oil squirters. But its personal preference thats all. Good luck with the build.

You have a 2gb block with upgraded thrust washers. Why would you want any other block?

so I should just be happy with my build and when she breaks then rebuild? I mean that is an option since I have 2 cars, just being a n00b I thought all 95-99 blocks were the same.

I thought I read that there is a bolt pattern difference for the intermediate shaft between the auto vs manual too.

Yea I would just keep it until it breaks. Stock vs stock the 6 bolt is a bit stronger, but once you get into the forged parts they're all about the same. 600hp vs 750hp stock block records.

89-92 is 6 bolt. 92.5-97 is the 7 bolt. and 97.5-99 is the upgraded 7 bolt.
