Hey guys, brand new member and this is my 1st post. I used to have a 95 eclipse n/t that I had some fun with. But I have an opportunity to buy a 97 Talon TSi AWD. It has 110,xxx miles on it. Brand new clutch, evo3 turbo, hks bov, godspeed radiator, pacesetter header (manifold?), and Greddy full turbo back exhaust. It has a few appearance flaws, but its 15 years old, and it's nothing too terrible that I can't overlook. My question is, will it be a reliable daily driver? Oh, and the asking price is below 5k

As long as you dont start playing with fuel mods and its mostly stock besides whats done i say it could be but sometimes these cars will surprise you. :|

Yeah, my old 420a was pretty reliable. The motor is all stock, 10 lbs of boost is all it's pushing. I will be having my mechanic take a look at it before I fork over the cash! Hopefully it will all check out and I'll be a proud wad dsm'r!

Take the fun you had with your n/t and multiply it by about 100. It sounds pretty reasonable.

Yeah, I had the HAHN kit on the ol' 420. It was a world of difference compared to the N/T, but as soon as I ran up against a 4g63T, it was all she wrote. I think this may be too good of a deal to pass on for me!!!

Good deal to me. Good, not alot of arkansans on here! WPS!

Yeah, I really can't wait! I've already got a few plans...he he he...:talon::hellyeah::rocks::sneaky:

Are you talking about street racing ??

Since your taking it to a mechanic to get it looked at. Have them give you a price for doing a timing belt job. You'll want to make sure the car is in good mechanical shape and all service points have been done before spending money on aftermarket parts

Timing belt and clutch were replaced Feb of last year, (he had receipts to prove it). I forgot to put that in the post. Only things I noticed were a slight noise from the drive shaft, could be a carrier bearing, and the gas gauge doesn't work. Other than that, I didn't notice anything bad. No audible knock under the hood, no fluid leaks, oil looked good and clean. I gave her all I had on the test drive and then checked all the obvious things under the hood again. Temp stayed normal, everything seemed like the car was maintained very well through the years.

No, just something reliable for a daily driver and still have fun with if the opportunity arises. I have a GSXR if I wanna race ! :thumb:
