goal are a
turbo that will spool very fast
325 hp
going to mount intercooler in car uless i can elemate it
heats are about 10 min. it is a very hard ten min with jumps etc on dirt
i am going to cage it and fuel cell
here is a utube vid of a race i am driving black and green sunfire

i want to make the motor very stong with 325 hp i know i can get it out of a stock block
255 fuel pump
i can run any race gas or pump
dont need any exhaust
trans is a stick with a clutch kit took apart and welded to lock both wheels
car will be gutted
I guess just need help figureing out what i want to do with motor turbo intercooler etc

I would mount the IC on the passanger side part of the dash board, that would give it some protection.
I doubt you need all tht large of one, one the 6' tall 18 inch long should be plenty and also be out of your line of site

As for the motor build, what would be your budget be?
do you have a link to the rules?

I would run a cosmetic head gasket, arp head studs, 16g and normal maintenance. You should be able to hit 325hp mark on a decent tune with pump or race gas.Maybe add a water to air intercooler, so u dont smash up a front mount.

is this the unique motorsports stuff.. i won the spectator drags when they were at kzoo.. looked like a good time!

A water to air IC is not a bad Idea, but not pratical, the water would be getting rather hot and less effctive mid way thu the race.

Just beacuse it is called a "front mount" dosnt mean it HAS to be bolted there, some extra IC pipe Mount it on the roof. It just needs airflow is the main thing

At the 325hp level, and as much matinace that a dirt car needs a cometic HG is not needed a felpro or oe or about any composite will be just fine.

I will agree the ARPs will be a good investment

The 16G may be about right from what I understand, the 16g small for the quick spool out the corners I would wager.

i was planing on the arp and good gasket . How much cooler will e85 keep the motor running. i can also get my hands on some 124 oc gas from a lab by my house.

I would ditch the idea of an intercooler and run a water injection system. I don't know what kind of track you will be on but with speeds that low an IC won't do too much to dissipate out heat out of the air charge. Also consider going on a GM MAF or speed density setup in case any IC pipe becomes damaged. Stick with a composite gasket and standard ARP studs. You wouldn't need anything larger than a 16g IMHO.

I would believe if you ran E85 you wouldn't need much cooling if any for what you will be doing and what the air temps the turbo will produce.

some of the tracks are longer than the one is the vid that is prob the smallest. That why i was thinking maybe a small sidemount inside the car and e-85 to keep it cool. i did not want to go larger on the turbo so it will spool very fast

If you aren't getting good airflow to the IC I wouldn't even bother. If anything just run water/alcohol injection. You don't even need to use methanol, isopropyl and ethanol (try to get at least 80 proof) are good to use as well.

running e85, i dont think the air temps will get all that hot without an intercooler all together. looks like you wont be doing any pulls longer then 3-4 seconds?

you said welded to lock both wheels, i am assuming its a fwd? because an awd will probably dominate completely over the competition.

and 325 is probably way too much as your not going to plant 325 to the ground in dirt and mud, unless you ran like a paddle tire haha.

how fast to you actually get up too on a larger track?

I think your money would be much better spent on Michelin or Pirelli dirt tires.

You're never going to utilize 300+ hp on a short oval/8 ect track, especially from a turbo'd car that doesn't have much power below 3000rpm to begin with.

on one of the longer tracks we could hit about 65 and yes it is fwd cant use awd so i pull the trans apart and welded it to make it a locker. U can run them tires we also will cut the tire too. i will prob run meth inject just incase i loose the rad and have just a few laps to go i can kick it on to help cool her down. this are the tires we run http://yokohama-online.com/Products...11&tx_yokotyres_pi2[tyre]=63&cHash=9d7448cdab

I have always wanted to do one of these. Personally, ditch the IC and go higher octane and meth. A 16g will get you the power goals you have. ARP's and a good head gasket and call it a day.

Little up date on car got it apart arp bolts went in trans pulled out act Cluth went in small 16g got bolted up new meth kit installed. Still trying to figur out if I want to go to e85.
Next on the list it to start cutting the wireing harnest for ever thing I don't need.
After that going to pull all suspension out and reinforce it. Going to be parting ever thing I don't need out very soon. If any one has some steel rims laying aound I will buy the or spair tires
