I've been searching for a little while off and on and have yet to find a Laser gold edition built. Anyone here know of one or will mine be one of very few? Can't wait to get started either way!

Straight from Plymouth Laser Wikipedia... I'm not sure how many they actually made, but they were definitely a limited number.

1992: The Laser received cosmetic changes for 1992, and a new all-wheel-drive (AWD) model joined the lineup. The RS Turbo AWD came only with a manual transmission, while the front-wheel drive version could still be ordered. There was also a freshening to the hood and front and rear fascias. The pop-up headlights were removed in favor of multi-form fixed headlights, making the car look more aerodynamic. The rear lightbar was replaced by two separate taillights. The RS model came with alloy wheels and other cosmetic differences. The RS could also be ordered with a Gold Package, which featured gold trimmed wheels, pin stripes and graphics. Only a limited number of RSs with this package were built, making them rare.

Lasers are rare anyway, cause they didnt make/ sell as many, and most people like Talons and Eclipses more. I dont know if my Laser was a Gold Edition or not, because it didnt have the factory wheels and had a cheapo, aftermarket paint job when I got it...

Ouch :x I wonder if there's a specific way to identify them any other way, most of it was base color/ gold wheels/ trim. Im making good money so this winter should consist of a complete build as its my off season. Hope people will be excited to keep a gold alive.[DOUBLEPOST=1407815598][/DOUBLEPOST]And mine actually is the RS 4g63NA, i plan on putting an already turbo block in it to keep it reiiable rather than modding a block. (CAS? not sure how difficult that one will be or what exact mod is needed) either way it should be interesting for the whole community to enjoy... like you said, the lasers are rare.

Mine. Built 6 bolt block. 2g head. Currently b16g. Will be a 20g. Looking for 400-450 to the ground. And it's an Awd gold edition.

Even though Laser's were the first to be pumped out of the DSM factory along with the Eclipse in Fall of 1988 (mine was pumped out in June of 1989), 1G Ply's never got the AWD option along with an Automatic option as with the other two lines.

1G Laser RS Turbo were considered a, "gentleman's sports coupe" and was dressed somewhat nicer than the other two lines.

The beginning sales of the Turbo FWD Laser wasn't as popular as the AWD with the other two lines. When the DSM line switched to the 1GB look with the solid front end, DSM got smart and gave the two options to the Laser mentioned above.
In 1993 is when the Gold Editions came out, but in limited numbers.
By this time Chrysler was looking on replacing the Laser due to poor sales and began the plans on its replacement being the Plymouth/Dodge NEON where the Laser was dropped in mid 1994 to usher in the NEON and let the other two DSM's take over until 1999 for the Eagle and 2012 for the Eclipse.
