Building support for a small frame (14b/16g) class at the Shootout!

Well, I sure hope to see the class run at the SO.
I'd love to prepay, but my 14b car isn't track ready nor will it be by then. But I sure hope the class doesn't go away because I'd really like to run in it next year (2011) or the year after.



Too bad I couldn't run my 2G in it. It does run a 16G...

That would REALLY be pushing the whole "only rule is NO NITROUS" thing to the maximum ...

The no nitrous rule might can it for me. That is unless DB doesn't know what nitromethane smells like

Just turn the nitrous off and run anyways. We need to get support for this thing!

I don't know what's up with the no nitrous rule though?!?! No one mentioned that at all, Dave just threw it in. I would assume he thinks he'll have less people breaking down?

It is entirely going to be up to us to make this happen guys, we are going to have to push the class and get the word out there. I think it can happen, we just have to get the ball rolling. Tell anyone you know about it, even if they wont be running the class, they might know someone who is.

I posted it on our local MIDSM forum and have at least 2 so far have paid, two pending, and 6 other interested parties from that posting associated through one of the pending members.

Also posted it on Talk and Link forums.

I'm starting to think this is going to work, but don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched either.

So i did some playing around on google maps and it looks like the Ohio shootout would be more than twice as far for me than the NJ shootout would be. Plus i have a a buddy that lives less than an hour from E-town which would make an overnight stay convenient and free and if he fell through or went on a another deployment, i have a couple friends in the Philly area that could probably put me up for the night.

Also I would be trailering the car anything over an hour away, Englishtown NJ being around 3 for me, and my tow vehicle is a gas engine Tundra. A great truck all around, but not sure if i would want to take it through the mountains and on a 7hour trip each way pulling the dsm and a trailer. I think if I am to be racing in one of the shootouts this year, it will probably be at the E-town shootout in NJ. Not to mention that i'm still only working part time and me being able to make it to either event as a racer would be up in the air. I didn't realize how much further away the Buschar SO is than the one in NJ. Sorry guys if i let you down. If any thing changes by then, or March 1 I guess being the cut off date, I will definitely add my name to the list!

Ive never participated in a DSM shoot out. Can someone elaborate more on the rules for interior?

I dont have a headliner or plastics for the pillas. Everything from the seats to the rear has been removed. Will I be able to participate in anything? I still have carpets and a center console.

My turbo is not stock appearing either.

^^^ You're pretty much limited to the Quick 16 class.
With an interior, you could do the Eliminator class.

As said in the first post, the only rules for the class are stock appearing turbo and no nitrous!

Obviously, I'm interested. I can't commit to being there this far out, however, I will prepay a spot if you are having trouble getting those 20. In other words, if I can't make it, I will definitely pay for a spot to make sure you all that will, can race in this class. Several things have to happen in the next 6 months for me to able to make that trip to Ohio.

Whats the definition of "interior". What do i actually need to qualify for an eliminator class? And is quick 16 bracket racing?

No, quick 16 is the fastest 16 cars there, heads up, pro tree.

Alright! You remember Scott who ran 11.4 in the stock appearing quals but blew an IC pipe in eliminations? He's supposed to be signing up as well sometime soon along with a couple other Ohio guys. That should bring our numbers up. Claims he has to recover from the holidays first.

I'm still holding out to see what date the NJ Showdown is going to be (Etown is only 60miles from my house, Norwalk is like 400). If they are different dates, Im going to toss on an E3 16G and will sign up with buschur.
