:ohdamn: Ok well first advice is to post in the 420A bolt tech area.

Second if your looking for that much power you need to build the motor, check out this.

2GNT.com - Power_Stages

You will want to read all of the links/ power stages at the bottom of that link. Then you need to figure out what setup you want and we need more info for that. Is it a Manual or Auto? Is it a DD? Do you want to run race gas or pump gas? Would you be willing to swap to a 2.4L? There is just so many questions that need to be answered. Also whats your experience? Do you want to build your own turbo or want one thats ready out the box? All in all if you do most of the work yourself you are looking at around 3 to 6 thousand to hit 400hp are you willing to spend that?

You won't need to buy a crank and the trans will be good for however many horses you are looking for, you may want a LSD though.

Its a manual and race fuel is expected but im not sure what you mean as far as DD i do light mechanic work but all work will be done by my friends shop and has more than enough experience needed. i looked into turning my420a into a 2.2 or 2.3 but may be more custom parts than i want to deal with. and another thing i need to look at is compression ratio and gearing i want a race tranny but its in the maybe pile, i have about 8,000 right now and probably wont spend more than 25k on it.

Ok well DD means Daily Driver but the race fuel question answered that. Read my link on the power stages that should help you. You can run a high compression ratio but adjusting the timing is a pain. Most guys prefer to run a low comp pistion like an 8.8 and more boost. Will you be building your own turbo? If so take a look at this.

No prob, get a used one in a junk yard. There are several options as far as what car you can pull it out of including the dodge neon SOHC.

There are a ton of Neons in junk yards, 95 to 99. Also you could see if any members are parting out their car in the classified.

Good hunting :thumb:

If I were you, I would sell your car and use the money from the car and all the money you would spend on parts to buy a nice 4g63 GST or GSX

what you're asking for is a... large request.

i don't even know where to start haha.

i will say this though, the trans is probably good for 600 hp. maybe not the axles. definitely not the clutch. invest in a good LSD, either a rebuilt (properly) OBX or shell out the $$ for a quafie.

i suggest kyb agx shocks because i think they are the best made 2gs.

they make a 2.2 stroker kit for the 420a.

but you can do a 2.4 swap from a cloud car (like the stratus).

your going to want to invest some money into a custom equal length half shaft mod. i can tell you from experience these cars have massive torque steer at higher HP

and yeah this is just too big of a request for me even to bother going on. it would take hours.

MPH- im not willing to sell and buy a 4g63 their over rated and im rebuilding the entire engine so buying that would only put me back to sq 1,

i considered the 2.2 stroker kit but like the 4g63 id be replacing everything anyway unless i can produce that amount of hp with that engine.
Thanks everyone for the help 2GNT.com was very helpful

Biggest advice if you go stroker or any performance parts for that matter, stay away from Howell Automotive. Otherwise everything you want to know is covered by any amount of searching. 2GNT.com - home would be your best source for people and info that doesn't just say buy a 4g63.
