I've met the previous owner and he is a great guy.
But just because someone spends a ton of money building a shell that never makes a pass or does what it is built for doesn't make it a legend. Too many people get respect for this instead of the people that actually run their cars and those that keep them running reliably.

This guy needs a good cleaning but for it for about 1/2 price so I can't complain.

Got a good deal on a used VIS hatch that will need painted. Wish it still looked like carbon but the weight savings is the important thing.

A little progress. The FDs didn't fit after I installed the Galant knuckles so i picked up some Evo wheels with a set of hoosiers.

If this car is the one i think it is. It was one of the main reason why i wanted to build a GSX about 7+ years ago. The attention to detail everything about it was killer and inspired me.

Im glad its back from the dead. Congrats!!!!!!

Please for the love of all things DSM, what is that paint code?

This car was originally a big budget build by a guy out of Texas. He did everything very nice and it was very pretty. It even won a couple of car shows but he never got any track time with the car. He finished it up then shelled the transmission and subsequently parted the car out. It was a build where no penny was spared and every bolt replaced.

I bought his fuel system then a couple weeks later he gave me a ridiculous price for the chassis, and I snatched it up. When I got it, it was bare, not even suspension.

I have replaced most of the carbon (except the hatch ) and added carbon fenders. I have about 20 hours of work left to finish the car. Motor, trans, dss driveline all need installed and i need to fab up intercooler piping and finish the harness. Plus a few minor fab things with seat mounts.

By chance do you have his original build thread link or the name? iv been searching for Richard Cayetano’s old thread and having a hard time. It someone could link me i would be very appreciative.
