BSE sprocket spacer or not? Who uses this?

I'm trying to see who uses this piece instead of the BS sprocket we usually just throw back on the crank. I would think this would be better as it will save a little rotating mass. This does take place of the sprocket behind the trigger plate correct? What about the trigger plate? Does this get affected?

Excuse the newb question, I just havent used one before.

This goes behind the trigger plate. You just pull the old sprocket type one off and slide the new one on, then assemble as normal.I have one installed on my car. Everything bolts up like normal except you have a smaller spacer. I can't really say if it affected anything since I never put it on the dyno before and after. I was just doing a timing belt job and it seemed logical, but I don't think I would pull everything apart again just to install one if I wasn't already in there.

I think of doing that to mine every time I take crank sprocket off. I think I don't because the way it fits on the rear one helps me remember to put the timing plate in the right way. You can get it backward and mess everything up.

I have cut down my own oil pump balance shaft though.
