Broken belt

Hello everyone, I noticed that my car had this realy bad vibration last night.I started the car this morning and looked under the hood. The engine is vibrating and I notice that a belt has been torn.I believe this is the balance shaft belt. Its the one located behind the timimg belt compartment on a 420a engine. My mechanics shop is about a five minute drive away. Will it be o.k. if I drive my car to the shop, with the torn belt or should I get it towed. I've read that the timing can skip because of this bad belt. Thanks.

Towed don't drive it you might cause other problems.

yeah, i wouldn't want to risk it either.........tow it to be safe..

Thanks for the responses. It turns out that my car does not come with a balance shaft
belt. It was the alternator belt that blew. That was replaced yesterday, now I find out today that i need four motor mounts, what a great way to start of spring break.
