Broken Accufab throttle bodies???

Just thought I would add after moving the BOV and changing the spring, this old style accufab has been on the car over a year now without problems. With 60 passes or more in the mid 130-140mph range boosting 30-31PSI. That being said I will probably break it this weekend.

I could be mistaken, but I believe if you want Accufab to swap out your shaft (haha no shaft jokes please) they also charge for it. It was my understanding that unless your throttle body was BRAND NEW, as in not installed, was the only exception where they would replace it no questions asked. That being said, I am not trying to create competition for them, merely offering an easy DSM friendly alternative. I don't make money on doing them, it costs me $75 to machine the shaft. So I guess that goes to show you how spiteful I am about the whole ordeal. Lazy engineers suck.

Ok i need some help! i have broken a few 75mm throttle bodys. I have an good floor stop,.. and I have solid motor ,tranny mounts so there's is no movement in engine bay.My blow off valve is an tial so I got good venting. they seem to last about 10-15 hard passes and break when i shift(let off gas). I talk to a few fast guys and they seem to think it's my floor stop ,but i've even adjusted it to where it not 100% open, ........there' breaking under the booost pressure, but i don't see why, when i have very big blow off valve. I'm lost!!!!!! help:(

I have the same issue, especially on the big boost.

Only one that I have had luck with is the Ford motorsports unit.

Aslo consider tyhat I, nor anyone, has ever broken a stocker. :)

Well the accufab finally let go at the track today. Guess I will try out the new design this time, if I break that I will just put on another SMIM and a stock NT TB.

A lot of people are using the Power Plus Tb's from CNC-Motorsports. I know these are the Tb's Magnus was using for a while, I don't know if they still are though. They do have the full shaft and the price is pretty good. Another popular TB is the Q45, it's proven to be very durable, you can usually pick them up for under $100.

I didn't read the whole thread so this might've been covered already. Accufabs have always had a very poor seal at the shaft and there is realy no proven fix for it.

Just get a Q45 tb and be done :)
Mind if I ask where the best place to get one is?
EDIT: Nevermind. I did a quick eBay search and found a bunch for less than $100.....

My only concern is that my Magnus is already flanged for a 75mm Mustang TB, so I'll have to modify it to fit a Q45.

That Q45 unit is a full 90mm ID (3.54") OMG
Whoa, I thought it was 80mm. In that case, I'll rule out getting one of those. I'm only making 400WHP, so a 90mm TB is overkill. I'd probably be fine on a stocker.

I'm probably only going to run either a 75mm mustang TB or retain my stocker and fab up an adapter for this manifold.

IIRC, it's a 3.5" connection but a 80 (or 83)mm at the throttle plate. If I can find a ruler I'll post a pic since mine just got here yesterday. I got it for $81 shipped :) Its a very sturdy piece.
