Hey I got a 420a with a complete engine rebuild. I am really scared there is almost 10,000 dollars invested in this car. I have 720cc injectors everybody is telling me to get a Megasquirt and sell the SAFC2. I plan on doing that. Also when I went to check to see what type of Ecu I have. The ecu is located by the fuse box correct. I did not find one for 30 minutes and I found a plug unplugged like one was there and is gone(the guy probably sold it before I bought this car) the car was not running when I bought it. But I was needing to know if I should buy the Megasquirt ecu also is there A megasquirt controller like the SAFC or is that the ecu and there is a program to hook up to laptops. I also purchased a piece of shit called the obx intake manifold and have to get the flange resurfaced and get it ported and polished. The reason I bring this up I was wanting to know how big is the Jeep throttle body and what year jeeps have it and what model. Also is it a 55mm throttle body or a 60 or what. But any ways my next question is this will I be fine with a Megasquirt ecu and controller or is there more computer items I should buy so I dont blow my engine up I want to run 20 psi with 720cc injectors on a T3/T4 turbo (T04E).

Yes, go Megasquirt. That SAFC2 will not help you very much on a Speed Density system; like the Chrysler system is. It is designed for a MAF system, so it works better and more effeictly on that.

So it varies as to what comes with it. You'll have to shop around. This should be all you need to control the car. It's a stand-alone style setup. The only other item you'll need is a wideband 02. However, if you are new to setting up and tuning; I's suggest that you find someone locally that can help you.

As for location of the ECU's.. on the 420A cars, it should be under the hood. You'll find a connector with about 60-pins; that should be an ECU connector.

Do you have the engine built to handle 20psi? You say you have quite a bit of money invested in this so I'm assuming you do; but if you do not have have forged internals, do not bother shooting for 20psi, the engine won't be able to handle that. On stock internals, 8-10psi is realistic.

As far as the Jeep TB's... the one the Neon people use are 60mm... but hoenstly I forget which model Jeep that came off of.

some of the jeeps are 55mm at the back because its tappered but you can hone it out. go to 2gnt.com and search for "jeep throttle body". i would like you there but i do all my online stuff on an old phone so i am limited. just take a deep breath homie, it will be ok. just do your research, plan ahead and take your time. megasquirt also has wideband o2 sensors and everything you would need. you could pick me one up too and i could help you thru it i will be going megasquirt as soon as i get some extra money or one falls in my lap. 2gnt.com tech pages should be your friend. try diyautotune.com for your megasquirt and read all the info you can on it. you download a free app or get both current available and tune with your laptop. you'll get thru this, man.

There are several options that I have personally seen. I havn't seen one with the wideband yet (not saying you cant find one) but if you get one without it is pretty much a requirement. Also I have yet to see a plug-n-play so some wiring might need to be done or you might need to talk to a member about making a wiring kit for you.

Also this ^ Forged pistons and rods is a must. Also be sure to break in your motor before slammin 20 psi in there.
