the lift appears to be a little lower than the hks 264s and 272s. but for the price, bc cams seem to be something to consider.

bc 272s, 10.18 in. and 9.66 ex. & on the hks site, it shows both 264 and 272s cams at 10.3 in. and 9.8 ex. so it appears like the bc are somewhat of an under dog in comparison. im certainly no guru on cams and am sure there are other specs to consider.

well specs are definitely 1 thing, but who's running the bc 272s and how are they performing? inquiring minds want to know.

thanks

I also ordered a set, should be on the way here. I compared them to the fp2s, they have slightly less lift, same duration, and the exhaust cam is retarded slightly. I hand drew in the BC specs on the fp2 spec sheet. I think that the retarded exhaust cam will help out with midrange power with maybe a slight loss at top end, which is fine by me. I think I got it right but this was my first experience researching cams, so if I didn't draw the BC's in correctly that is why. The BC's are the green lines.

we have sold dozens of these and I've installed a handful myself and i can tell you that i really like them.

the idle nicer than the typical 272 but still pack a punch. I haven't been able to dyno them back to back but i can tell you that in years of being in the DSM game i don't impress easily but i really like these cams and think they are a steal.

so if you would have to choose between the fp2's and bcrower 272's.which would you choose??

i was originally going to get a pair of fp2's but im starting to lean alot more towards the bcrower 272's due to the price.

also have you ever had a problem with these cams not being degreed properly???

Both are similar. I have very little first hand experience with the FP2's. I think the 272's offer a great value with great quality. I have never seen a single issue with them not being degreed properly. :thumb:

I was also gonna order a set of 272's or 280's but im not sure which cams to go with for my set up. Do I need to upgrade the springs, retainers and valves also or are the new stock ones gonna handle it? I have a precision SCM-6152E to replace my green and im trying to see which is the best setup for that turbo Im not really looking to go much past 7800 rpms. If any one has good advice please chime in

Hey bud, if you are looking to build a setup to shift under 8k i would strongly suggest you stick with the 272. You will not use the 280s with your setup and will move your power band higher.

the 272 will be perfect for you and you can use them without any worry on your current valve train.

I wouldn't run the 280's with the stock springs and retainers. I bought both the 280s and the springs/retainers package (vid in the video section of the idle) . Personally id spare the couple hundred to have the piece of mind and wouldn't put stock springs and retainers on the 272's either.

I installed BC 272's today, idle is very lumpy even at a 900rpm idle. Hopefully my car learns to idle itself better as when I come to a stop it likes to dip down to about 600 and slowly bring itself back to my preset 900 rpm idle. Going from stock to these and a fresh tune, Mikey likes :thumb: Top end pull seems to just keep climbing hard.

hey mike, sounds good. so your saying that u feel a significant difference between the stockers and the bc? since u have dsmlink, wouldnt raising the idle a little help with the lumpiness? i bought the bc 272s have got them yet tho.

Idle has gotten better, the car just needed to relearn. It hasn't died on me in the past 2 days so I'm happy now. I haven't noticed any down low power loss and from 5k up it just seems to rip by. Never having cams before, to me it just feels like I turned up the boost. :thumb:

well i finally installed the BC 272s and the car idles pretty smoothly after a little tuning and runs sweeet. i definitely have some traction issues to sort out now...LOL. thanks for the input guys

What RPM are you running. You say it idles pretty smooth.
